Our purpose is the exercise or development of guardianship functions and others related to the promotion and defense of the legal capacity and rights of people with mental illness in Bizkaia.
The purpose of the Ondoan Fundazioa Foundation is to provide support and safeguards to ensure the proper exercise of the legal capacity of people with mental illness in Bizkaia. As well as any others related to the promotion and defense of said legal capacity and their rights, as well as the support to the families in the future choices they make in relation to their relatives with mental illness. By virtue of this, the following are considered as aims of the Foundation:
To be entrusted by the judicial authority in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework and in accordance with the terms of the corresponding judicial resolutions that determine the extent and limits thereof.
In the event that they have a resolution of support measures judicially agreed for the exercise of their legal capacity, that they are immersed in the development of a file of judicial provision of support or in a situation of lack of protection, vulnerability or risk.
Of persons with mental illness who require the provision of support and safeguards for the exercise of their legal capacity, informing the Public Prosecutor's Office of all those cases of which it is aware, and the constitution of such judicially agreed support, as provided for in the Civil Code, or any other action for the protection and defense of their rights.
To families and other agents (local administrations, social services...) on support measures for people with mental illness for the exercise of their legal capacity, offering families a trustworthy solution to the concern about the future of their family member with mental illness when they are absent, as well as advice and support in the exercise of such judicially agreed measures, facilitating their acceptance of the charges and avoiding situations of claudication of the families in this exercise.
