To family members who assume the provision of support measures in the exercise of legal capacity of their mentally ill family members.
Providing families, and people with mental illness themselves, with the commitment of the Foundation and a trustworthy solution to the concern about the future of their family member with mental illness when they pass away (Testamentary Dispositions and Provision).
Intervention with each person with mental illness and their family environment is based on the individualized study and analysis of their personal situation and the particularities that make up both their natural support network and their professional network, as well as coordination with these networks.
This area of Attention has had since its inception (year 2015) the economic support of the Public Administrations: Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the City Council of Bilbao, while since 2017 also the Basque Government has financially supported its development. In all cases this support is carried out through the corresponding calls for grants.
For their part, private entities have also shown their confidence in this area of action: the Víctor Tapia-Dolores Sainz Foundation, since 2020, while since 2024 the Carmen Gandarias and Gondra Barandiaran Foundations have also made contributions.
